Europe was in the dark ages, suffering from massive intellectual, scientific, social and cultural decline for almost 1,000 years. This occurred when then the Anglos and the Saxon defeated the Roman Empire and destroyed whatever gains Europe enjoyed from Roman ingenuity.
When the Moors (Afrikans) entered Spain, they brought Europe up to a level of civilization it had never experienced. Influences of the Moors spread throughout Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and England. Twelve of Europe's greatest known universities were established after the arrival of the Moors. The universities of Rome, Oxford, Cambridge, Lisbon and Salamanca are among the groups. The total of what the Moors contributed to Europe's revival are too numerous to list, but an attempt will be made in order to visualize the scope of how they brought Europe back to life. Starting with the basic survival, the Moors showed the Europeans how to increase fertility of their soil to sustain larger growth and harvest. They introduced such items as; rice, cotton, orange, bananas, coconuts, maize medical herbs, and introduced food preservation and storage in order to survive harsh winters.
The Moors introduced the use of water wheels, aqueducts, paved streets, and windows. The houses in Cordova were air conditioned in the summer by ingeniously arranged draughts of fresh drawn air from the garden and warmed in the winter by hot air conveyed through pipes bedded in the walls.
In fact, the Moors established hundreds of bathhouses in Spain. Cleanliness to the Moors were as important as eating, but also for health reason. Let us remember that Europeans did not view bathing, and or personal hygiene important for good health and or prevention of disease. Europeans were accustomed to drinking out of goblets, the Moors introduced crystal glasses and plates. They also introduced the order in which we place our plates, glasses and silverware while eating today.
Black folks know your worth, we have always been centuries and centuries ahead of time. Don't let anyone tell you different. We are the creators of life and the brains behind civilization and technology.
